Saunders Construction and Maintenance

Facility Maintenance

We have a strong track record in delivery of maintenance services in many Australian mine sites and at most of the Australian refineries including BP Bulwer, BP Kwinana, Shell Clyde, Caltex Kurnell, Caltex Lytton and Mobil Altona. As a requirement of contract, our clients have measured Saunders performance on a regular basis to set Key Performance Indicators including safety, quality, schedule, cost and innovation. Our consistent performance has led to the continuous renewal of these maintenance contracts.

The core business of our Facilities Maintenance Division is the repair and maintenance of above ground storage tanks.  We have an exceptional safety record in high-risk environments such as refineries and mine sites. Confirming our commitment to tank maintenance, Saunders is the only tank company in Australia that has a dedicated, stand-alone tank maintenance division.

Our risk-based maintenance prioritisation methodology inclusive of risk analysis, scenario analysis and preventative maintenance. We have a strong in-house engineering team who provide analysis of client tankage reports.  This service comprises interpretation of inspection results, retirement life calculations, suitability for service analysis, finite element analysis and innovative
repair solutions.

The services we offer include:

Quality Assurance

Our quality team provide options to our customers which include in-service and out-of-service inspections by our API653 accredited inspectors who are located around the country and are ready to complete site inspections at short notice.

Project Management

Saunders’ dedicated project delivery services incorporate project planning, scheduling and budget preparation. In addition, we provide sub-contractor management in line with project or facility requirements including resource management for tank cleaning, inspection blasting, floor and shell scanning, non-destructive examination, painting, insulation, civil, electrical, instrumentation and testing. One of the key elements of successful tank maintenance is to be able to react quickly after a tank has undergone an out of service inspection. Our qualified engineers have demonstrated their ability to quickly review tank inspection reports, develop the most cost effective repair options and prepare the necessary calculations, drawings and method statements to enable tank repairs to be carried out at site with minimum delay or tank out of service time.
