The Project

Saunders was engaged as head contractor for the design, construction and commissioning of a 17.5 mega litre diesel tank.

Scope of this project included:

• Lead and compose a high-level construction project risk assessment plan
• All civil works inclusive of access roads, bundwalls, tank bund impervious barrier, tank bund floors and storm water drainage
• Electrical and instrumentation works inclusive of control package and software to control all shipping and pumping lines, level indicator alarms, emergency shutdown procedures and site permanent lighting
• All pipework consisting of new shipping lines, tie in’s to existing market lines, manifold modifications, new suction lines, pressure relief system, fire and foam emergency lines
• Mechanical works including procurement and installation of all valves, pumps, and structural steel associated with the pipeworks
• Design and construction of a 40 metre (diameter) x 14.4 metre (height) AS3678 Gd250 Carbon steel diesel tank
• Calibration and commissioning of the plant
• Protective coating of tank, pipework and structural steel
• Non-destructive testing of all installed services
