OUR EXPERTISE

Bridge Design and Construction

We specialise in road and rail bridge construction, delivering projects from initial design verification to final certification. Our portfolio includes significant works such as the Woolgoolga to Ballina Bridge and the Harty’s Creek Bridge, completed for clients including the NSW RMS, local governments, universities, and developers. Our team is skilled in designing bridges to AS 5100 standards and managing entire replacement projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.

Marine Structures

Our expertise extends to constructing wharves, jetties, and boardwalks for both recreational and commercial use. An example is the Carrington Wharf project, where we employed innovative techniques to drive piles from land using an 80-tonne crane. This project highlights our ability to adapt and innovate in challenging environments.

Temporary Bridges

We provide modular and prefabricated steel bridge systems designed to RMS standards. Our temporary bridges feature a steel deck system with an anti-skid coating, ensuring safe and reliable transport access during construction or disaster recovery operations.

We’ve earned a reputation for successfully delivering challenging civil projects using innovative design alternatives and construction methods, on time and within budget.

PROJECT FEATURE: PORT MACQUARIE BRIDGES PROJECT

Client: Port Macquarie Hastings Council
Value: $11.2 million
Date Secured: May 2023
In May 2023, we were awarded a new contract for $11.2 million to replace five existing timber bridges across the Port Macquarie Hastings Council area with concrete bridges. Once finished, the new concrete bridges will reduce future ongoing maintenance costs for the Council and increase connectivity by allowing increased vehicle load limits. The project is being funded by the Council and Transport for NSW under the NSW Government’s Fixing Country Bridges Program. The project is due for completion in 2024.

OUR COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

At Saunders Civilbuild, we pride ourselves on our reputation for delivering challenging civil projects with innovative design alternatives and construction methods. Our dedication to quality is evidenced by our third-party ISO certifications and RMS pre-qualification for bridge and road works. We maintain an extensive fleet of equipment to support our projects, including cranes, excavators, and specialised drilling equipment.
